Environmental Monitoring

Environmental Monitoring

The purpose of environmental monitoring is to measure and control the status of and changes in environmental conditions. The most dominant factors influencing environmental conditions are those related to human economic activities. These may affect air, soil and water in equal measure. In many regions of the world, the growing impact of man-made environmental change is destroying valuable ecosystems and jeopardizing their potential future use by humans. Environmental monitoring plays an important role in tracking and identifying the changes and impacts of human activities on the environment. In order to monitor these changes efficiently, a broad variety of measurement and analytical equipment is necessary. This equipment needs to be brought into operation within densely populated areas as well as in remote areas with only limited infrastructure. Modern environmental monitoring products and solutions are capable of reliably collecting environmental monitoring data  even from remote areas and transmitting it to monitoring bodies such as governmental and non-governmental institutions. Based on the information collected, guidelines and action plans can then be defined and implemented. The HORIBA Group supplies state-of-the-art environmental monitoring solutions, from single-purpose metering and analysis devices to complex monitors and fully integrated multi-parameter monitoring stations.
